FREE SHIPPING applies to orders with the value of $69.00 and over (including GST). A national set rate of $7.50 applies to orders under $69.00. This excludes some giftware items and a rural delivery surcharge.

A rural delivery surcharge of $7.50 will be added to all orders where applicable. If you are in a rural delivery zone and spend over $69.00, you will only be charge the rural delivery surcharge of $7.50. If you spend under $69.00, you will be charged the national set rate of $7.50 plus the rural delivery surcharge of $7.50.

Some oversized giftware have a set rate of medium $15.00 or large $25.00 depending on size or weight. The rural delivery surcharge apply to these rates.

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid?

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is naturally produced in the human body in very small amounts but is also available in some foods. ALA is unique in that it can function in both water and fat environments. ALA promotes the production of glutathione and can also recycle vitamins C and E, thereby enhancing their antioxidant activities. In addition, ALA may help to maintain healthy neural tissues, promote proper glucose metabolism and support healthy cardiovascular function.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a key factor in the cellular process that metabolizes glucose for energy production. Ageing is accompanied by a decreased ability of the liver to recycle ascorbic acid following oxidative stress. Studies have shown ALA, when given to ageing rats, reversed the age-related impairment of ascorbic acid recycling and concentration in liver cells. Ageing is associated with oxidative stress in the brain. Studies have shown longer term memory was enhanced by ALA. ALA is known as ‘The Universal Antioxidant’ – it is soluble in both water and fat and is able to recycle antioxidant nutrients such as Vitamin C and E.
