There’s an amazing natural product that has been around since ancient times called propolis, made naturally by honeybees.

Researchers have identified more than three hundred compounds in propolis. A majority of these compounds are forms of polyphenols. Polyphenols are antioxidants that fight disease and damage in the body.

What are the Health Benefits of Propolis?

Healthy and Strong Immune System

Propolis helps build a healthy and stronger immune system by
stimulating it. Propolis contains a range of bioflavonoids with antioxidant properties that have been shown to boost immune systems. Regular consumption of propolis will strengthen the immune system. If you want to build an even stronger immune system, take propolis daily and address nutrient deficiencies such as zinc, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin D. It is also important to take these nutrients in sufficient amounts & the right forms for best results. We can help with that!

Prevents and Treats Common Cold and Sore Throats

Scientific studies have shown that propolis extracts may
naturally prevent as well as shorten the duration of the common cold, which can often include a dreaded sore throat. Propolis extract is highly effective against sore throats and gets to the cause of the problem due to its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It may also help to ease the pain and help a speedy recovery.

Treats Candida Symptoms

Candida or Candidiasis is an infection caused by Candida Albicans, a yeast-like fungus. This is the most common type of yeast infection found in the mouth (oral thrush), intestinal tract and vagina (vaginal thrush), and it may affect skin and other mucous membranes.

Research published in 2011 in the Journal of Medicinal Food revealed that Propolis seems to be the bee product with the highest
antifungal activity as demonstrated by its effect on 40 different yeast strains, including Candida Albicans.

Oral Health and Hygiene

A number of clinical trials have shown that bee propolis is
effective in maintaining good oral health and hygiene. Propolis applied directly, using a tincture or spray for example, has been shown to reduce oral bacteria and plaque build-up, effectively reducing symptoms such as bad breath. Evidence also shows that bee Propolis can treat swelling, inflammation, and sores inside of the mouth including oral mucositis and canker sores. Bee propolis has also been used to heal gum inflammation when applied directly.

Bacterial, and Fungal Infections

Bee propolis can be applied to various bacterial and fungal
infections on the skin to treat symptoms.

Arthritis

Propolis can help with the pain and inflammation of arthritis, by using it as a topical treatment (cream or ointment) and an internal health supplement (in capsule or extract form). Referenced in a 2007 article published in the “Journal of Venom and Animal Toxins” explains that propolis is an inexpensive yet effective topical treatment for both acute and chronic inflammatory processes such as arthritis. Propolis is particularly useful for treating these conditions when they occur in the joints between bones, where arthritis often appears.

Heart Health

The active components of Propolis that have been identified so far include polyphenols and flavonoid and they may help to:

Reduce high blood pressure

Helps to promote healthy cholesterol and
triglyceride levels.

Reduce atherosclerosis which is a hardening and narrowing of your arteries caused by plaque lining the inside of artery over time.

Propolis may help reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Warnings:

Propolis is safe and gentle. However, a very small minority of people (about one in two thousand) may show an allergic response to Propolis in the form of a skin rash.

Propolis may cause severe allergic reactions in certain people. Not recommended for asthma or allergy sufferers.

If you have a known allergy to bee products, bee stings, conifers, or poplars, consult with us before using propolis.

If irritation or swelling of the mouth or throat occurs, discontinue use, and consult a healthcare practitioner immediately.

Not suitable for children under 2 years of age.

PREGNANT OR LACTATING WOMEN: Consult your healthcare practitioner before use.
