All farms involved in the co-op are part of a Development and Sustainability Program which involves giving incentives to farmers to produce organic and sustainable cacao products. The farmers undergo practical training and their environmental impact and sustainable growing practices are continually reviewed to ensure all standards are being met. Q: Would cacao butter be of benefit for someone who has high cholesterol? A: There is no cholesterol in cacao butter so for instance in baking it would be a better option than butter. Cholesterol is only found in animal products such as fish, meat, chicken, dairy etc.
